Have you ever wondered who builds a home for the public? Firehalls, City halls, Police stations, Recreation / community centres?

Here at Johnston Davidson Architecture, we pride ourselves on civic work that helps benefit the community and provides a strong foundation for the community's growth and we are looking to add an Architect to our team here in Vancouver!

We are looking for individuals who want to help provide a home for our public servants and talented architects who are eager to learn and provide support to the team.

This is an introductory level position, and we believe in individuals who want to leave a positive impact on the future generation of the community and would like to build their architectural careers.

If you believe this is you, you would be responsible for :

  • Provide support to team members with various architectural task
  • Prepare programming space for studies and projects
  • Ensuring building code is up to date, and adhering to any legal requirements
  • Development of working drawings using Revit
  • Assisting preparing drawing submission, building permit, and other various construction administration
  • Participating in deficiency review, site details, and site visit as required
  • Review shop drawings and submittals
  • And other various task that would contribute to your AIBC internship goals

While we do not require all the qualifications, the best candidate to represent JDa would have :

  • Eligible to be registered with the AIBC program
  • M. Arch in Architecture and / or an institution recognized by the AIBC / CACB
  • Previous experience working in an office setting for a minimum of two - three year
  • Strong Adobe skills (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Proficient in Revit
  • Physical model making
  • Computer rendering and digital visualization skills
  • Knowledge of the BC Building Code
  • Good work ethic and enthusiasm for working as a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Well organized with good interpersonal skills
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Looking to build their career

Salary Range : $65,000 - $75,000
