We are happy to present the role of a Contract Administrator / Architectural Technologist role located in Vancouver, BC.

Our client that provides a full range of architectural, planning, and interior design services, is looking for reinforcement in their team.

This firm is widely recognized for expertise in retail, residential, mixed-use, office and senior health-care projects. They are dedicated to high quality design, exceptional client service and the incorporation of sustainable design principles in their projects.

The ideal candidate will be willing to relocate to Victoria, BC, but we are also open to consider candidates who are based in Vancouver if you are willing to travel frequently to the island to complete site reviews.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Maintain and Review Project Documentation : Ensure the accuracy of project documents, including shop drawings, schedules, samples, and alternate requests.
  • Site Reviews and Progress Tracking : Conduct site reviews at project locations to verify that work aligns with the construction contract and relevant building codes.

Track progress and identify any issues or deviations.

  • Field Issue Coordination : Collaborate with contractors, approving authorities, and sub-consultants to document and address field-related issues.
  • Project Change Management : Create and manage project change documentation. Respond to requests for clarification by providing supplemental drawings and specifications.
  • Design Team Collaboration : Work closely with the design team to resolve issues and assist with constructability reviews, providing valuable feedback.
  • Document Delivery and Meetings : Coordinate the delivery of documents, drawings, and samples for necessary approvals from clients and consultants.

Attend meetings as required.

Close-Out Activities : Manage all close-out activities according to project specifications, including deficiency reviews, substantial performance assessments, final occupancy inspections, and handling permits, manuals, warranties, and letters of assurance.

Key Requirements

  • A professional degree or diploma of certified Building Technology or Architectural program in a professionally recognized institution.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Canadian Architectural Industry.
  • At least 3 years of experience in carrying out contract administration duties for construction and architectural projects in Canada.
  • Strong working knowledge of the BC Building Code Part 3 and ASHRAE 90.
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and Sketchup is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Certification as Construction Contract Administrator would be an asset
