Bioriginal Food & Science stands out as one of the world’s leading vertically integrated manufacturers in the nutritional foods and supplements industry.

Over the past two years the company has completed six strategic acquisitions across four countries on three continents, significantly expanding our revenues, facilities, and workforce.

As we prepare for further growth through additional acquisitions, we are seeking an experienced high energy executive to lead our operations group.

This role will report directly to the CEO, to allow the CEO to focus on sales and additional M&A activities in cooperation with Bioriginal’s parent company, Cooke Inc.

Position Summary :

Reporting directly to the CEO, The Chief Operating Officer (COO) leads the organization’s global manufacturing, supply chain, logistics and maintenance functions.

The COO works closely with the various key internal stakeholders to drive productivity, efficiencies, optimizing production costs, maintaining high quality and safety standards and leads efforts in continuous improvement.

The role leads operations functions to ensure it can meet the Company’s growth objectives, while ensuring sustainable, customer-focused and innovative operational practices.

This role is part of the Company’s executive leadership team and will be involved in various strategic initiatives at a global level.

Responsibilities & Expectations :

  • Leads, manages and optimizes day-to-day operations across manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, distribution and R&D to meet or exceed performance metrics.
  • Develops and executes strategies to improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs, without compromising product quality and safety.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, implementing lean manufacturing and six-sigma practices to drive productivity and efficiency.
  • Oversees global manufacturing processes to ensure they align with Company standards for quality, efficiency and safety.
  • Puts a strong focus on ensuring MAUC costs fall below standard costs.
  • Ensures compliance with all food safety regulations and implements quality control measures to minimize risk and uphold product standards.
  • Works closely with the Quality team to identify, manage and resolve quality related issues and risks.
  • Oversees global supply chain and logistics functions, ensuring optimized inventory management, procurement, warehousing and logistics.
  • Works closely with the executive team to develop medium and long-term operational strategies that align with the Company’s goals.
  • Analyzes and forecasts industry trends, global production demands and Company capacity to ensure the operations functions are optimal to meet future demand.
  • Identifies opportunities for expansion, new technology adoption and operational innovations.
  • Instills and fosters a culture of accountability, growth and engagement with their teams and staff.
  • Sets KPI’s and performance expectations for all operational functions.
  • Champions health & safety initiatives to create a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Working with operational leadership, oversees operational budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with Company’s financial objectives.
  • Monitors industry trends and ensures appropriate practices and processes are implemented to ensure the Company is competitive, innovative and customer focused.
  • Provides regular updates and information to the CEO and executive team on operational performance, challenges and opportunities.
  • Works with the global operations functions and direct reports to ensure all subsidiaries activities and processes align with corporate goals and vision.

Desired Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of operational / manufacturing leadership experience, with experience within food and beverage production industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, with a preference for an MBA or other related advanced degree.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills required.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and food manufacturing is required.
  • Experience working with nutritional food or supplement industries is preferred.
  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements, managing large global teams and leading operational excellence initiatives.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in utilizing ERP systems.
