What do you offer

The Facilities Cleaner must ensure a clean and safe YMCA environment that maintains Y standards and meets member expectations at all times.

The hours for this position are 7:00am-3:30pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm on Saturday & Sunday.

Some of the tasks of this position include:

• Providing hands-on cleaning services to the YMCA facility.
• Ensuring that prescribed cleaning procedures and sequences are followed.
• Ensuring that proper cleaning products and tools are used according to directions.
• Creating a friendly and welcoming environment.
• Being a contributing team member and sharing in the overall responsibilities of day-to-day operations.

What qualifications and abilities are we looking for

The successful candidate will have the following:
Language

• Ability to communicate in English

Experience Skills and Abilities

• 1 year of cleaning experience
• Knowledge of cleaning products materials equipment and techniques
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work on feet all day

Additional Requirements:

• Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
• A Police Record check not more than 6 months old is Records checks are reviewed on an individual basis and the offense(s) - if any - is considered in the decision-making process in relation to the requirement of working with children therefore not eliminating all candidates with a record from being offered a position.
• Semi-annually staff must complete the mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.
