Machine & Forklift Operator - Metcalfe, ON

Permacon, a CRH Company, is a leader and pioneer in the manufacturing of concrete masonry and landscaping products. Permacon is a division of Oldcastle APG and operates 9 plants in Ontario and Quebec.

We are currently looking for Machine / Forklift Operators at our Metcalfe plant, southern Ottawa.

The selected candidate must be available to work on rotating shift every two weeks, day and night.

Salary : 24.52$ / h - 26.06$ / h

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

• Be safety oriented;
• Load, unload, sort, check, move, wrap, package, store and / or pile different products, material, raw material (pallets, skids, plates, blocks, paves);
• Operate various automated production equipment;
• Complete quality and production duties following the quality manual;
• Set-up product changes;
• Optimize cycle time of machines;
• Perform preventive maintenance of equipment;
• Performs all other related tasks requested by his superior.

Qualifications and requirements

• High school diploma
• Forklift Licence
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Team work oriented, initiative; responsible, able to react, to be precise; methodical
• Organized, must be able to work with established procedures, guidelines, people and under immediate supervision
• Use of Microsoft Word & Excel an asset
• Must be able to learn quickly and have capacity to safely physically handle weight up to 20kg
• Must be able to react efficiently and to operate equipment safely and efficiently
• Must have an excellent attendance record
