As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Accountant to join our team immediately.
Job Summary :
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and providing financial insights to support PPIL’s financial health.
This role involves managing day-to-day financial transactions and supporting higher-level fiscal planning, financial analysis, and compliance.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent organizational capabilities, and the ability to work independently, along with a strategic mindset to help drive financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Transaction Management : Accurately record and maintain all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable : Process invoices, reconcile accounts, ensure timely payments to suppliers, and manage collections from customers.
- Bank and General Ledger Reconciliation : Regularly reconcile bank and credit card statements, manage bank deposits, and maintain the general ledger with precision.
- Payroll Processing : Prepare payroll lists and manage payroll processing through Nethris, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Financial Analysis : Prepare financial statements and conduct variance analyses to provide insights on cost savings, budget adherence, and profitability.
- Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor performance against budgetary targets.
- Compliance and Audit Support : Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and assist with both internal and external audits, implementing best practices for financial control.
- Tax and Regulatory Filings : Manage GST / HST filings, work with external accountants for annual filings, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Client Credit and Cash Flow Management : Monitor and manage client credit limits, perform cash flow analyses, and provide strategies for improvement.
- Documentation and Year-End Procedures : Maintain organized documentation, prepare year-end closing, and archive financial records systematically.
- Financial Reporting and KPI Analysis : Prepare and distribute weekly financial and KPI reports, with analysis to provide actionable insights for management.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CGA designation preferred.
- Experience : 5+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Technical Skills : Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and familiarity with financial reporting software.
- Analytical Skills : Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations based on financial analysis.
- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills : High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Integrity : Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
Preferred Skills :
- Knowledge of P21 ERP : Familiarity with the P21 ERP system or similar ERP systems.
- Financial Planning Experience : Background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Industry Knowledge : Experience in fastener, manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Client Credit Management : Demonstrated experience in managing credit limits and collections.
