Position Overview :

This is a hands-on role responsible for assisting in the month-end closing process, reconciling balance sheet accounts, creating journal entries, and overall accounting for Xplore's capital assets. This individual must be experienced in the application of IFRS. Experience and judgement are required for efficient task planning and accomplishing goals.

Key responsibilities include :

• Responsible for fixed asset accounting records including journal entries / upload file formats for the tracking and accounting for capital assets (from Purchase Orders to Depreciation). This involves control validations for capital expense, creation of correct asset class with appropriate useful life, reasonability test and control checks for CPE write-offs, reporting and testing of CRM module for administration of CPE assets, preparation of fixed asset continuity schedules, reconciliation of the assets under construction
• Responsible for subsidy accounting. Working closely with the finance manager on the subsidy projects to ensure timely and accurate entries at the end of the month to reflect government subsidies earned and / or received and the amortization of deferred subsidies.
• Responsible for deferred revenue accounting. Monthly reconciliation of the accounts and performing accurate and timely month-end entries for all forms of deferred revenue and monthly recognition of deferred revenue.
• Responsible for deferred dealer compensation accounting. Monthly reconciliation of the accounts and performing accurate and timely month-end entries for all forms of deferred dealer compensation and amortization of deferred dealer compensation.
• Responsible for reconciliation of Inventory accounts. This includes monthly inventory reporting and ensuring control procedures are in place for appropriate and inventory valuation for monthly reserves.
• Responsible for accounting for internal labour capitalization using the time tracking modules or estimated percentages provided by the financial reporting team.
• System enhancement / changes required to support both fixed asset modules and inventory. Involves testing and development of solutions in collaboration with IT Dept and Finance Management and provides annual audit / quarterly review support.
• Asset / WIP / COGS-related adjustments to provide Project accounting support for the commercial division of the company
• Solid understanding of IFRS, strong attention to detail, analytical.
• Ability to problem solve and identify process improvement opportunities
• Flexible approach to work with ensured closure of tasks.
• Can do” attitude.
• Expert MS Office skills, especially Excel
• Works with a sense of urgency, deadline-driven.
• The ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
