Job descriptionBachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Accounting) Pursuing CPA designation is considered an asset 3-5 years of significant accounting experience, Financial reporting or regulator compliance experience within the P&C Insurance space. Knowledge of IFRS 17 and P&C regulatory reporting experience is an asset. Strong understanding of accounting systems and experience with SAP is an asset Detail-oriented approach with demonstrated analytical skills Assertive self-starter with the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision Excellent organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure and meet multiple tight deadlines Intermediate knowledge of Excel
Position Details
What You Will Do :
- Prepare regular monthly and ad-hoc journal entries for the Insurance legal entities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements.
- Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist in reviewing significant variances from budget to actual.
- Prepare and file quarterly P&C regulatory reporting requirements, as necessary.
- Prepare the quarterly reinsurance settlement statements.
- Assist in certain special projects as part of the Company’s continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform monthly and ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support Finance Management and other departments.
- Support the annual and interim external audit and review process.
- Assist in technical accounting research, as required.
