Job Description :
Reporting directly to the Planning / Reliability General Foreman, the Shutdown Planner is responsible for liaising between Engineering, Operations and Maintenance groups to ensure the maximum use of Maintenance resources while minimizing interruptions to Operations and Production.
This position will be a 7 / 7 rotation.
Responsibilities :
Responsible for initial screening of incoming work orders, identification of scope, and analysis of required levels of planning for shutdowns
Conduct field walk downs to identify and analyze corrective and predictive maintenance, modification and inspection activates and provide input for refining and improving work package quality.
Identifies specific safety hazards that will be encountered in the performance of the proposed work.
Make safety procedures, including lock out / tag out procedures available to employees, ensure that all aspects of existing company safety policies are incorporated into the job plan
Estimates and required hours on work orders tasks and total work order duration
Plan jobs with appropriate level of detail for the given trades workforce for Shutdown work
Determine and include QA & QC requirements on jobs.
Plan and kit parts for all shutdown work
Write clear and concise procedures
Oversee the scheduling of all shutdown work to indicate predictive and preventative maintenance
Audit all shutdown work orders and maintenance log items
Participate in the scheduling process and attend scheduling meetings
Maintain equipment information and repair files
Oversee contractors and ensure proper communication and expectations involved during shutdown / outage periods
Ensures Shutdown / outage schedules are published and communicated appropriately
Keeps bill of materials current with area planners
Must be present during shutdown / outage periods for there entirety
Qualifications :
Must hold a certified inter-provincial trade’s ticket.
Relevant experience in Mining, U / G Mining, processing facilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, MS Project, CMMS (4Site, SAP, etc)
Knowledge of Maintenance & Reliability terminology and processes.
Effective communication skills (written, oral, listening)
Previous planner experience an asset
Previous project management experience an asset
A high-level of organizational skills, confidence, and decision-making abilities
Ability to perform in a self-directed, fast paced, team environment
A thorough understanding of Maintenance management
