OVERVIEW
The IT Solutions Architect is responsible for leading and supporting enterprise architecture activities in a proactive and cross-functional manner.
He / she createsdeliverables that define technological solutions and ensures that these solutions are well integrated and consistent with the targeted business needs.
These solutions, which include applications, processes, data, and infrastructure, must be aligned with the target architecture.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand the drivers and capabilities of the Company and its business units (future and current state) and determine the corresponding enterprise solution designs and change requirements to reach the targeted outcomes.
- Design and lead the implementation of a solution architecture across a group of specific applications or technologies based on business strategy, capabilities, and business requirements.
- Develop architecture for a wide range of projects, working closely with project managers and stakeholders.
- Ensure that solutions are consistent with the overarching enterprise architecture and guidelines.
- Monitor and evaluate the state of the solutions portfolio to identify deficiencies related to aging technologies and assess their status against the technological transformation roadmap.
- Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving models.
- Understand, defend, and improve principles, guidelines, standards, and models to ensure that all decisions pertaining to solutions are consistent with the Company’s target architecture and vision.
- Take part in the development of the applications portfolio roadmap.
- Take part in the evaluation and selection of software products and services, as well as in the design of standard and custom software configurations.
- Document all solutions architecture design and analysis work.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure that project execution is in line with defined plans.
- Collaborate with business partners to ensure quality and efficiency of service while identifying continuous improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
ACADEMICS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems analysis, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least eight years of experience in solutions architecture and design.
EXPERIENCE
- At least five years of experience as a solutions architect within SAP environments.
- At least three years of experience in the design and integration of SaaS / Cloud solutions.
- Knowledge of S4 / Hana, BTP (Business Technology Platform) and Signavio would be a strong asset.
- Experience with SAP ECC migration to S4 / Hana would be a strong asset.
- Knowledge of integration middleware would be an asset.
- Experience on a team responsible for transforming IT processes and improving organizational efficiency in the context of a global IT transformation plan.
- Experience with MES and MOM applications within a manufacturing environment would be a strong asset.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to design solutions that are aligned with the overarching vision for enterprise architecture.
- Excellent work planning and organization skills.
- Knowledge and, ideally, experience with the DevSecOps concept.
- Understanding of application design, implementation, and integration methodologies.
- Ability to communicate with, influence and persuade peers.
- Ability to understand the strategic (long-term vision of transformation) and tactical (short-term positioning) perspectives.
- Ability to translate capabilities and future business requirements into solution architecture requirements.
- Financial acumen and ability to understand the financial impacts of alternative solutions.
- Ability to consider several technical solutions regardless of personal preferences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and other presentation tools.
- Experience working with an architecture documentation tool such as ABACUS.
LANGUAGES
Perfectly fluent in French and English written and spoken.
Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
