BooksTimecurrently has operations in 5 countries : the US where we reheadquartered as well as Georgia the Philippines UAE andUkraine.

Traditionalbookkeeping firms are inefficient expensive and often providesubpar service. By leveraging modern automation and AI tech as wellas our remote global workforce BooksTime is able to deliver higherquality bookkeeping at prices every business can afford.

There is a major shortage ofaccounting talent.

Demand for accounting servicescontinues to rise.

Demand is relatively resilient toeconomic fluctuations given that bookkeeping is a need that alwaysexists for every business in everyindustry.

Additionally :

Many bookkeeping serviceshave so far focused primarily on the US market neglectingCanada.

The Canadian market is large with1.2 million small to midsized employerfirms.

The vast majority of thosebusinesses are small enough that it is not economical for them tohire an inhousebookkeeper.

The competitive landscape amongbookkeeping firms is very attractive.

RoleOverview :

AsClient Service Leader for BooksTime Canada you will be responsiblefor overseeing all services provided to Canadian clients.

This is ahandson role requiring a pragmatic leader who doesn t mind delvinginto the daytoday details.

KeyResponsibilities :

Lead and manage the Canadianbusiness unit. Oversee all aspects of Canadian operations with aprimary focus on service management ensuring clients and staff arehappy and that your team has the support they need tosucceed.

You ll also serve as a key executivein BooksTime s globalorganization.

Learn BooksTime s existing serviceprocesses and implement them for the Canadian market adapting whereneeded for the local context and improving them as well (we realways looking to improve the way we work).

Hire train and manage Canadian teammembers. The majority of staff who report to you will likely beSenior Accountants who supervise and review the work done by ourglobal bookkeeping teams and help with highlevel clientcommunication.

Build a training program forBooksTime s current global bookkeeping teams on Canadianbookkeeping.

Coordinate with BooksTime s teams inother countries to leverage shared staff and resources related toas IT recruiting service provision andmore.

Collaborate with and supportmarketing and sales staff as needed. These may include folks on ourexisting teams as well as future hires on the Canadian team.

Ensure all Canadian operationscomply with local laws and regulations including taxcompliance.

Most of all : provide leadership andvision to build and scale the Canadianbranch.

Ensure our service team has thetraining they need to deliver excellent bookkeeping services toCanadian clients.

Requirements

Qualifications :

Expertise in CanadianAccounting : Extensive knowledge of Canadianbookkeeping accounting and tax regulations relevant to smallbusinesses.

Chartered Public Accountant (CPA) preferred but notrequired.

Proven LeadershipSkills : Great atcommunicating a vision managing people and helping them reach theirpotential. Several strong references from happy employees andcolleagues will be requested and will be key to hiring decisions.

Experience as a Partner CEO COO CFO startup founder or in similarroles is preferred ideally at professional servicefirms.

Growth Driver : Demonstrated ability to thrive in adynamic environment with ambitious growth goals is a bigplus.

IndependentWorker : Capable of working autonomouslyand taking significantdecisions.

Pragmatic Visionary : Able to both dream big but also to executeplans effectively to make those dreams areality.

Relationship Builder : Excellent networking and interpersonalskills. This is a reputation and connection basedbusiness.

Experienced : The number of years is not the mostimportant factor we re looking for someone with a clear trackrecord of driving huge growth and impact.

That said the minimum is5 years of relevant work experience. If faced with a choice between5 years of exceptional performance and 25 years of pretty goodperformance we ll take the exceptional performer every time.

TechSavvy : A general interest in learning and usingthe latest tech is important. Additionally experience in QuickBooksand / or Xero would be a big plus.

Languages :

Englishis the only language required for this position. However fluency inany of the following languages would be aplus :
