Simpson is located at 1661 West 5th Avenue, Vancouver BC, is currently looking for an IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN to join our dynamic Vancouver, BC team on a full-time permanent basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide desktop support to all employees by troubleshooting problems; setting up, configuring and updating user accounts;
- Support our Vancouver office and remote offices in Surrey, Victoria, BC and in Los Angeles, USA by communicating electronically.
- Travel to remote offices in Canada may be required;
- Prioritize service tickets and resolve client issues in a timely manner;
- Working with our IT Director and other departments on special projects ranging from software / web development, remote office setup, network configuration, high performance computing, software training, and computing research.
Knowledge, qualifications and abilities
- Completion of a two-year diploma or degree program in computer systems technology;
- Relevant certifications is preferred;
- Minimum of 2-3 years' working within and providing support in a Microsoft environment;
- Excellent computing and troubleshooting skills;
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills;
- Knowledge and experience with the following technologies : VB 6 / 7; Python; NET framework v4+ with C# and Visual Basic;
- PowerShell; HTML / CSS / JavaScript; Relational Database / SQL; Networking / internet and active Directory;
- Knowledge and experience with the following software programs : Widows 7+; MS Office 2016+ / MS Teams; Zoom / GoToMeeting;
Adobe Creative Suite; AutoCAD 2019+ Revit 2019+; Visual Studio 2019+ / Visual Studio Code; i0S and Android; and
Required to work on-site (in person).
Salary and Benefits
Our firm offers an attractive total compensation plan; in this position you can expect an hour wage of $30.77 based on a 37.
5 hour work week, in addition to an extended health (with vision care), dental, long term disability, life insurance and 3 weeks' vacation.
