- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to the technology department, including federal regulations, customer data protection, and cybersecurity.
- Collaborate with technology teams to ensure that new and existing products and services comply with regulatory requirements, including conducting impact assessments and providing compliance guidance on new releases.
- Get involved in the project definition phase to define the compliance-related requirements, testing strategy and evidence.
- Act as a subject matter expert on compliance-related matters, providing advice and training to technology teams as needed.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on our technology operations, providing proactive recommendations to ensure compliance.
- Lead or participate in compliance audits and assessments, working closely with internal and external auditors to address any findings.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and trends related to technology compliance and customer experience, and apply this knowledge to enhance our practices.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CISSP) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, regulatory compliance, or a related field, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, PCI DSS, SOC2 etc., as well as experience implementing compliance programs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex compliance requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide actionable recommendations.
- Experience working in a regulated environment and familiarity with regulatory expectations related to technology operations.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a proactive and positive attitude.
