BI Developer
Summary
The BI Developer (BID) will design, develop, and maintain the organizations Business Intelligence solutions. The BID will use data analytics platforms, reporting tools, and visualization techniques to turn raw data into meaningful insights to support the organization in making informed decisions.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and jobs.
- Develop, implement, and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements.
- Implements best practices in data management to ensure the integrity of the data, the quality of the data processes and delivers analyzable or analyzed data to a variety of stakeholders.
- Identify data issues proactively and flag them to respective stakeholders.
- Review and maintain data replication health.
- Review and interpret ongoing business reporting requirements.
- Troubleshoot database issues related to data and permissions.
- Identify and communicate technical problems, processes, and solutions.
- Assist in the development of logical and physical specifications.
- Document the development procedure at every stage of the project.
Qualifications
Experience, Education and Designations :
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Post-Secondary Degree / Diploma in computer science, information technology, or related field considered an asset.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Navision, or Microsoft Dynamics Business Central considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes :
- Excellent understanding of T-SQL programming and Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Analysis Services
- Strong technical knowledge and experience with Power BI and information visualization techniques and strategies.
- Familiarity with business operations, objectives, strategies, process, and information flow
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Skilled in creating pivot tables, graphs, and charts using data tools.
