Title : Intermediate Mechanical Engineer – Ottawa (Onsite)

We’re currently working with one of our trusted engineering consulting clients to find an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join their growing Ottawa team. This is a full-time, onsite position , suited for someone who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative office setting and is looking to deepen their project leadership experience.

What you’d be doing in this role

This is a key intermediate-level role for someone with 4–10 years of experience. You’ll take ownership of smaller projects and lead portions of larger ones, with responsibilities including :

Designing and analyzing building mechanical systems (HVAC, fire protection, etc.)

Performing HVAC load calculations and equipment selection

Coordinating with architects, structural, electrical, and other disciplines

Applying building codes and standards appropriately to design and documentation

Creating technical reports, drawings, and specifications

Integrating sustainability and energy efficiency into your designs

Taking part in project planning, budgeting, and client meetings

Representing the firm in meetings and managing small project teams

Mentoring junior engineers as needed

You're a match if you have

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)

P.Eng. designation (licensed in Ontario)

Between 4–10 years of relevant experience in building systems design

Proficiency with AutoCAD, Excel, Adobe PDF, and mechanical engineering tools

Solid understanding of building codes and engineering best practices

Strong communication and coordination skills

The ability to take initiative and manage multiple moving parts
