Financial Controller

Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller is responsible for assisting the team in the financial management of all BHC venues.

As the ideal candidate, you are an upbeat people-person who is a meticulous problem-solver with a knack for accuracy and maintaining financial integrity.

Your analytical mindset will drive financial benchmarks and the preparation of comprehensive reporting. This position works on-site in our office located in the industrial area of Banff, Ab.

What You’ll Do :

• Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Support the CFO with financial planning and analysis activities including budgeting and forecasting, cash management, and corporate finance.
• Manage the organization’s treasury function and day-to-day banking relationships.
• Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations and oversee the preparation and submission of sales and excise tax filings.
• Manage and optimize financial systems, processes, and internal controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial information and compliance with regulations.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring their professional growth and development while maintaining high performance standards.
• Assist with special projects, including serving as the finance lead for system implementations, driving internal financial reporting enhancements, process improvements, and implementing consolidated reporting.
• Lead the company's cash management team, you support each individual in accomplishing their personal and business goals.
• Being a leader in Banff Collective you are approachable to all BHCers alike. You regularly engage with the venue teams to ensure they feel supported in their financial understanding.

What You Have :

• 3+ years experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar role, demonstrating a strong track record of financial management and leadership.
• Excellent process design and improvement skills with expertise in leveraging technology to drive efficiency and productivity.
• Experience with financial systems implementations and consolidated financial reporting practices and standards.
• Strong computer skills, with an understanding of cybersecurity principles and the ability to leverage technology for financial management.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, contributing to a strong team culture and linking all aspects of corporate activities.
• Experience in leading financial aspects of special projects, such as system implementations and financial reporting enhancements.
• CPA designation or commensurate experience, demonstrating a high level of expertise in financial management and accounting.
