About the role

We're looking for a skilled and passionate UX / UI designer to join our client's team to support from the ground up, the strategy, user experience, and interface design on projects across the organization.

You'll play a pivotal role in crafting exceptional user experiences (UX) across all digital touchpoints, from our website and mobile app to marketing materials.

Leveraging your design expertise and user empathy, you'll create intuitive user interfaces (UI) that are not only visually appealing but also optimized for usability and accessibility.

Depending on the category, the role may be combined with Graphic Designer role

Responsibilities

User-Centered Champion

o Conduct user research (user interviews, surveys, usability testing) to understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors.

o Translate user research insights into actionable design decisions to optimize the user experience across all digital products.

o Champion user-centered design principles and advocate for user needs throughout the design process.

Visual Storyteller & Brand Advocate

o Develop visually compelling user interfaces (UI) that align with the company's brand identity and core messaging.

o Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging visual assets for various marketing materials, ensuring a cohesive brand experience.

o Design clear and concise information architecture for the company's website and mobile app, facilitating user navigation and information discovery.

Design & Prototyping

o Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and user flows to effectively communicate design concepts and interactions.

o Utilize design thinking methodologies to develop innovative solutions that address user needs and business goals.

o Maintain a strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout composition for effective visual communication.

Usability & Accessibility Focus

o Conduct usability testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback and data-driven insights.

o Ensure the company's digital products comply with accessibility standards (WCAG) to create an inclusive user experience for all.

o Stay up-to-date on the latest UX / UI design trends and best practices for usability and accessibility.

Collaboration & Communication

o Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (marketing, engineering) to understand project requirements, provide creative solutions, and deliver user-centric designs.

o Communicate design concepts and decisions clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

o Work within established timelines and contribute to the overall success of the design team.

Other duties as may be required

Qualifications :

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a UX / UI Designer or a related field.
• Experience setting up platform usage analytics, using tools to track user behaviour, and gathering insights for iterative design improvements.
• Draw on your mixed-methods research background to prioritise research opportunities, build and own research roadmap planning, and handle expectations with collaborators.
• A portfolio or project showing user-centered designs demonstrating how you used research and data to inform your decisions.
• Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and prototyping tools like InVision or similar.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• A passion for sustainability and a desire to contribute to the company's mission of advancing electric boating (a plus).
