We work with a team from all walks of life and backgrounds. Position Overview The Studio Production / Resource Manager position straddles Administration and Production.
The ideal candidate is comfortable with tasks that are ongoing and finds great satisfaction in assembling information received from many sources into a digestible form and thrives with organizing a constant flow of ever changing information.
Although an independent thinker, you are OK with making recommendations and suggestions to the talent pipeline with the understanding that solutions will need to be approved by supervisors prior to implementation.
Responsibilities Participate and work with the Supervisors, Producers, & HOPs to assign and schedule artists to teams. Manage resource requests : Track project start and end dates on an ongoing basis.
Use bids to determine early artist projections. Seek out detailed resource needs from show teams. Track and constantly update assignments in various spreadsheets and databases to project office capacity.
Communicate assignments to production and artists on an ongoing basis. Flag potential crewing challenges to Production and offer crewing solutions.
Seek out tasks for artists waiting for short-term assignment, including proactively matching up capacity and anticipated need before artists run out of assignments.
Communicate artist loans between project teams. Communicate Startdate pushes or pulls with artists. Suggest and implement improvements to resource tracking system for increased efficiency and transparency.
Work with the department coordinators and managers to ensure all resource requests are being discussed. Communicate with all production managers to fulfill shared task assignments, and proactively offer solutions to cross-location resource issues.
Provide HR with team details and assignment for new hires. Mediate resource conflicts between productions, ensuring HOP approval is obtained for larger conflicts before implementing.
Recommend when a position needs to be opened to recruitment. Attend internal meetings related to scheduling project kickoffs etc.
Help update training documentation on the Wiki using provided information. Document training sessions or activities and ensure information is shared.
Contribute to the mentorship and happiness of the creative team. From time-to-time, provide out-of-office coverage for individual department managers on a short-term basis.
Track approved and pending vacation requests in appropriate databases. Ensure vacation requests are reviewed by appropriate teams in a timely manner.
Contribute to providing employee feedback to HR and HOPs. Attend VFX functions in Vancouver as it relates to recruitment & retention.
Qualifications 4 + years of coordination experience on TV and / or feature VFX production. Production experience with Shotgun & Crew Planner Experience with EXCEL and Microsoft Office.
Organized and highly detail oriented. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detailed note taking. Understanding of 3D / 2D live action VFX pipelines.
Thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment Self-starter a must. Able to manage different personalities and good relationship building skills.
Able to negotiate priorities between different shows vying for the same resources. Able to display diplomacy and composure under pressure.
Able handle sensitive employee information discreetly and respectfully. Additional information
- British Columbia Employees Pay Range : $45 - $50 / Hour (The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position)
- Candidates MUST be located in British Columbia if applying within Canada. . At the moment this is a remote (work from home) position with the option of working within our studio.
- Zoic does not cover relocation costs.
- All remote positions require the candidate to have a reliable internet connection via ethernet and work on Pacific Standard Time.
