Reports to : Restaurant Director, Elisa

Designed by the internationally renowned and award-winning Rockwell Group in New York, this elegant and modern steakhouse breaks the old-school mold and highlights a vibrant see-and-be-seen destination restaurant.

Anchored by an open show kitchen and a Grillworks Infierno as the centre piece, the menu will feature premium cuts of beef, sustainable seafood, and seasonal produce all locally sourced.

The convivial atmosphere flows from the lively bar and lounge and throughout the airy dining room.

JOB SUMMARY :

The Bar Manager will curate, develop, oversee, and manage the bar program, while working closely with the Wine Director to support the creation and delivery of a unique and elevated beverage guest experience that is in harmony with the kitchen’s food program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Manages the day-to-day bar operations in the restaurant
  • Serves as an educator, as well as an inspirational, committed, and responsible leader to the restaurant’s front-of-house teams
  • Maintains exceptional bar cleanliness and equipment to optimal specifications
  • Prepares for and inspires staff to deliver a memorable beverage experience
  • Designs creative and elevated custom cocktails, while being well-versed in classic cocktail culture
  • Delivers superior customer service through effective training and education
  • Leads by example by delivering superior consistent customer service and hospitality
  • Maximizes resources and inventories by managing cost and maintaining and monitoring inventory and budget to ensure the best use of inventory and allocation of expenses
  • Develops a strong rapport with agents and distillers
  • Drives positive results and aligns with business goals
  • Under the direction of the Restaurant Director, initiates and executes special projects as required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading a premium beverage operation
  • Holds a professional recognized wine and / or spirits certificate
  • Related university degree or a combination of education and experience
  • Experience curating and managing inventory with both fiscal responsibility and award garnering intentions
  • Strong business acumen with a proven ability to provide insightful industry leading, best-in-class outcomes to perpetuate growth in a premium service environment
  • Highly committed to a premium level of quality
  • Skilled at developing and creating beverage experiences that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to analyze current business problems and implement recommended solutions
  • A solutions-provider committed to a vision of service to create an ultimate guest experience
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Superior conflict resolution skills, with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, clientele, suppliers, and partners
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, including the ability to handle conflicting deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Comfortable with dealing with media, public speaking, and VIP guests
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
