Fernie Alpine Resort is looking to fill the position of BikeTrail Crew. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, physicallyfit, have intermediate to advanced mountain biking skills and be comfortableworking in an outdoor mountain environment.

You Will :
- Ensure a safe, comfortable and friendlyatmosphere for both guests and staff
- Perform detailed trail inspections, observe andnote deficiencies, areas of potential hazard or improvement
- Complete required trail maintenance in anefficient and effective manor using a variety of tools and equipment
- Assist with trail design and constructionfollowing industry and resort standards
- Assist with equipment and tool inventory, maintenance andstorage
- Maintain records, logs, and assist with accident investigations
- Ride mountain bikes within resort policyperimeters; including managing speed, choice of appropriate terrain for abilitylevel, maintenance of personal equipment, and wearing of safety gear (full facehelmet, body armor, appropriate footwear, gloves)
- Safely operate company vehicles and equipmentwithin company policies.
- Assess risks and hazards on the mountain
- Adhere to company policy as it relates to yourjob and conduct while at work
- Have a high level of willingness to participate indepartment training and required tasks proving ongoing commitment and increasein skill level and ability
- Have the ability to take initiative in developing workprojects and perform duties independent of direct supervision
- Know and adhere to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Employee Handbook
- Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program
- Know and comply with all expectations of the Injury Management / Return-to-Work Programs
- Perform other tasks and duties that are applicable
You Have :
- The physical capability and reliability to work 10hrdays in all weather conditions
- A strong commitment to safety
- Intermediate or higher mountain biking skills
- Hand tool equipment operation experience (Pulaski,shovel, weedwhacker )
- Previous Chainsaw experience (an asset, although training will be provided)
- Small to medium machine operation experience (an asset, although training will be provided)
- First Aid Certification (an asset)
- S-100 Fire Suppression Course (an asset)
- Work Safe Chainsaw Operators Certification (anasset)
