Asa Building Official / Chief Building Official (CBO) you will overseeand ensure the compliance of building projects with local codesregulations and standards.
Your role will be crucial insafeguarding public safety and maintaining the structural integrityof buildings within thejurisdiction.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Reviewand approve building plans ensuring compliance with local buildingcodes zoning regulations and safetystandards.
- Conductinspections of construction sites and completed structures toverify adherence to approved plans andregulations.
- Provideguidance and technical support to architects engineers andcontractors throughout the constructionprocess.
- Addressand resolve issues or violations related to building codes andstandards.
- Preparedetailed reports on inspections code compliance and enforcementactions.
- Staycurrent with changes in building codes regulations and industrybestpractices.
- Actas a liaison between the public construction professionals andmunicipalauthorities.
- Leadand supervise a team of building officials ensuring effective andefficientperformance.
Requirements
- Relevantcertification or diploma in Building Inspection ConstructionManagement or a relatedfield.
- Extensiveexperience in building inspection construction or a related rolewith a proven track record in compliance andenforcement.
- Indepthknowledge of local building codes zoning regulations and safetystandards.
- Stronganalytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complexregulations.
- Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact withvariousstakeholders.
- Leadershipexperience with the ability to manage and mentor ateam. Strongorganizational skills and attention todetail.
