Position Summary
The Driller will operate a Directional Drilling machine and drive the support vehicle (s) used to transport this equipment to various project sites.
This is a unionized position with benefits and pension.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Load, transport and unload directional drill equipment and tools in a manner that is secure and damage-free
- Complete a daily inspection of equipment prior to commencing work
- Prepare the drilling fluid based on site conditions prior to boring commencing
- In conjunction with a locator, operate the directional drill using the selected bore heads and back reamers to place cables and / or duct
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in drilling
- Valid Class A driver’s license with an Z’ endorsement
- Previous experience working around existing buried utilities
- Must be fully proficient with Book 7
- Must have previous experience and be proficient in the operation of a directional drill and associated locate set
- Ability to read and understand utility locates
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
- Will work in all weather conditions, day, night, or weekend with possible overnight stays
- Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) prior to employment commencing
- Able to operate heavy equipment ( mini excavators,backhoes)
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable Health and Safety training as per legislative and job
