After a few years of running end-to-end client relationships, our team is moving into a hunter-farmer program to divide the sales and relationship activities with clients and drive a better customer experience.
NielsenIQ's Global Track COE is searching for a driven and experienced Sales Manager to lead and manage all sales activities within the Global Harmonized portfolio.
You will play a critical role in driving profitable growth by establishing strong client relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering innovative solutions from our Global portfolio.
Global Track is a commercial business unit within NielsenIQ which aims to unlock NielsenIQ's potential across technology, data content and data processes to better deliver against our clients' above market needs and build on our competitive advantage.
The Global Track Team provides state of the art tools, applications and processes designed to efficiently extract insight from single and multiple data sources and create actionable information for use across markets.
Accountabilities
Understanding Client Needs :
- Leveraging deep knowledge of customer business and discussing issues from multiple angles.
- Reading nonverbal cues and identifying unanticipated client needs.
- Successfully linking NielsenIQ capabilities to client goals to overcome barriers to purchase.
- Ensuring that client plans and projects are both developed and implemented.
- Feed back to Product Leadership as a voice of the client to ensure NielsenIQ's portfolio is meeting client needs.
Solution Knowledge :
- Full understanding of NielsenIQ's Global Track portfolio and inter-connectivity of different solutions. Stays apprised of NielsenIQ's technology vision and roll-out plans to meet changing client needs.
- Awareness of Business Intelligence tools and ability to guide and consult a client's data warehousing and data integration strategy.
- Embodying the NielsenIQ Corporate values and leading wider initiatives that strengthen the NielsenIQ business
Sales Negotiation :
- Demonstrating and leading value-driven negotiation with senior client stakeholders
- Ensuring that each negotiation is well planned with a strategic and clear approach
- Pre-empting client stakeholder objections to negotiations and identifying the levers to use effectively
- Linking the value of NielsenIQ's Global Track products and solutions with the price to overcome objections.
- Recognizing when to walk away from a deal.
Sales Management :
- Support CBPs on a consistent response to RFP's and contract renewals, setting clear timings, strategies and objectives in a timely and client focussed manner
- Coordinating the proposal process across teams, overseeing the submission process to meet deadlines and ensure consistently high standards.
- Ensuring all proposals and sales deliver profitability and EBITDA to the NielsenIQ business.
- Solid understanding of and ability to leverage and articulate the steps involved in the Enterprise Selling process.
- Continuously learns from all opportunities and client engagements to improve internal sales processes, collaboration and techniques
Teamwork & Collaboration :
- Working continuously within NielsenIQ's matrix environment to deliver on Commercial agreements and ensure client satisfaction with NielsenIQ's Global Track services.
- Working collaboratively with other teams to identify revenue opportunities and ensure all work is connected to client business issues, is delivered on-time, with a focus on outcomes.
- Sharing knowledge and best practice with the wider business
Role Requirements :
As an experienced seller and leader demonstrating passion and energy for the FMCG industry, you will possess the following skills :
- 7+ years of experience in FMCG sector or equivalent with detailed knowledge of NielsenIQ products and services
- Expert in consultative selling and negotiation
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of NielsenIQ data capabilities, technology and industry Business Intelligence tools (Azure, Snowflake, Relational Databases, NIQ DDM, NIQ Discover, etc).
- Excellent awareness of market conditions and client business environment
- Excellent client-facing and communication / presentation skills
- An ability to problem solve and a solution-orientated mind-set
- Expertise in the sales process and proposal creation & RFP response
- Financial understanding (eg. P&L, EBITDA) and how this relates to business success
- Demonstrated track record of delivering against financial targets
- Excellent business English (+ other languages advantageous), both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively across teams in a matrixed and cross-cultural environment to deliver positive outcomes
- Solid problem solving skills, solutions oriented and excellent analytical skill
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
