Role Overview
A full-time opportunity for a CPA professional experienced in Canadian and US public companies monthly and regulatory reporting.
This position will report to the Corporate Controller and will be responsible for assisting in various projects that relate to accounting, financial reporting in IFRS and US GAAP and SOX internal controls.
The Accounting Manager position is based in our Vancouver office and forms an integral part of our accounting and finance function for a rapidly growing company.
This position works collaboratively across our Canadian and US-based teams supporting the financial reporting function and advancement of our projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly reporting packages for the Company’s business units as well as consolidated and subsidiary entity level quarterly and year-end financial statements.
- Manage the monthly accounting close process including preparation and review of account reconciliations, preparation and approval of journal entries and monthly accounting reports and working papers in compliance with SOX requirements.
- Compile data for various internal and external reports such as surveys.
- Work with internal and external auditors.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Support SOX compliance and audit.
- Assist with tax returns and provisions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree, CPA accounting designation or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years accounting work experience with a public company.
- Experience with SAP as well as US GAAP and SOX considered an asset.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Strong supervisory skills.
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team and across functional areas.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation : CDN$100,000-$115,000 a year + annual bonus
