Intermediate Rotating Equipment Engineer
Wood is seeking to add an Intermediate Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our Oil & Gas Canada business team. The successful applicant will work with our project teams, increasing their exposure and knowledge on the diverse projects currently being executed in our office and help progress their career in engineering.
Selected applicant will be posted in the Wood Edmonton, AB office.

Please note this role will work our standard office hybrid work schedule.
Having knowledge and experience in various Rotating Equipment, including :
- Compressor Equipment : reciprocating and integrally geared;
- Pump Equipment : Slurry Pumps, API Centrifugal Pumps, etc.; and,
- Turbine Equipment, and all associated equipment and accessories,
The individual will :
- Take on full package ownership as the Responsible Engineer for Rotating Equipment Packages, including coordinating and liaising with other Wood engineering disciplines, the client and suppliers.
- Support generating new Mechanical Package Specifications related to Rotating Equipment Packages.
- Create, specify, and maintain Data Sheets for related package rotating equipment.
- Develop and compile Material Requisitions c / w specifications, scopes, and data sheets for bid and purchase.
- Review quotations from suppliers and perform a Technical Bid Evaluation of the equipment offered.
- Post purchase order placement package management, including review and approval of supplier documentation for the equipment.
- Visit the supplier’s shop or the client’s site, as required.
- Develop Construction Work Packages specific to rotating equipment scope.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Rotating Equipment Engineer in an EPC or EPCM company.
- Intermediate level knowledge of various Rotating Equipment (compressors, pumps, turbines, .
- Experience with rotating equipment in CO2, Carbon Capture (CCS) and / or Hydrogen services will be considered a strong asset.
- Must be registered as a Professional Engineer ( with APEGA.
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Canadian experience in conceptual, front-end, and detailed engineering on various mid to large capital projects in oil & gas, including refinery, upgrader, and petro-chemicals.
- Knowledge of industry codes : ASME, API and Canadian Codes.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
- Strong technical writing skills; experienced in the preparation of correspondence and technical reports.
- Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Motivated by working with people, through internal collaboration or with external clients.
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel).
- Must be legally able to work in Canada at the time of application.
