One of our manufacturing clients in Oshawa ON region is lookingfor the Health & Safety Specialist for theirfacility.

KeyResponsibilities :

Program Development andImplementation :

  • Developimplement and manage comprehensive health and safety programs andpolicies specific to the automotive industry.
  • Ensure compliance with local state and federalregulations related to occupational health and safety.

RiskAssessment and Hazard Control :

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses inautomotive manufacturing and operational environments.
  • Implement control measures to mitigate identified risksand hazards.

Training and Education :

  • Develop and deliver training programs foremployees contractors and management on health and safetyprocedures regulations and best practices.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging risks toupdate training content accordingly.

IncidentInvestigation :

  • Leadinvestigations into accidents near misses and incidents todetermine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Implement measures to prevent the recurrence ofincidents.

Emergency Preparedness :

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plansfor automotive facilities.
  • Coordinate drillsand exercises to ensure effective response in the event of anemergency.

Safety Audits andInspections :

  • Conductregular safety audits and inspections of facilities equipment andprocesses.
  • Work closely with relevantdepartments to address findings and ensure corrective actions areimplemented.

Data Analysis and Reporting :

  • Analyze health and safety data to identifytrends and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare andpresent regular reports to management on health and safetyperformance.

Regulatory Compliance :

  • Stay current with changes in health and safetyregulations and standards applicable to the automotiveindustry.
  • Ensure the organizations compliancewith all relevant laws and standards.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and SafetyEnvironmental Science or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in health and safety (e.g.CSP CIH) are highly desirable.
  • Postsecondaryeducation in Occupational Health and Safety and / or Bachelorsdegree
  • Working towards CRSPcertification
  • 3 years of Health and Safetyexperience
