DUTIES Reporting to the Associate Director, Pre-Award this position will be critical in the development and implementation of the unit’s information management and protection processes.
- Duties include researching best practices in university research office records management policies, procedures and processes;
- developing the tools and resources to support the maintenance, protection, retention, archiving and disposition of unit records (in all formats);
- creating and implementing a records management plan; working with staff to establish appropriate unit-based retention and disposition schedules for university records;
- assisting with data migration and purging any unnecessary files in consultation with senior management; delivering information management training to RIS employees;
and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (5-8 years) in records and information management; completion of an undergraduate degree in business administration, information technology, and / or records and information management;
or any equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The ideal candidate will have experience developing tools and resources for an information management program, as well as an understanding of project management and change management.
Knowledge of the principles of information management and protection is essential. Experience working with records in various formats (i.
e. electronic or databases, paper, etc.), and with records or document management systems is required. Familiarity with information management related legislation (federal and provincial) is essential for this role.
The successful applicant must possess effective communication and time management skills. Experience working in a university environment and knowledge of university policies and procedures would be an asset.
SALARY $66,092 - $90,126 per annum (Management and Professional)
