Role Summary
Follow and execute the supply of material to designated production areas following standardized work in a safe and timely manner with regard to the proper house cleaning practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure production process is supplied with all material components and dunnage in a way that prevents machine downtime.
- Ensure that finished product and empty baskets, boxes and unneeded packaging materials are removed from all designated areas without delay.
- Unload scrap into designated bin locations.
- Ensure that all material is handled properly in order to preserve product quality.
- Ensure raw material and finished product storage follow 5S requirements.
- Keep shop floor neat and organized, including removal and dumping of wood skids and stacking of baskets.
- Report any problems or concerns to the Production Supervisor or the Shipping Supervisor in a time period that reflects the urgency of the problem.
- Support all plant IATF & ISO initiatives & requirements.
- Follow the guidelines and rules as set out by Unimotion-Gear's Employee Handbook and Company policies.
- Comply with the applicable responsibilities related to effective quality management in accordance with Unimotion-Gear's Quality Management System (QMS) IATF 16949.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Shipping Supervisor or designate.
Key Qualifications / Requirements
- High School Diploma (grade 12) required.
- Valid forklift license required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of driving a forklift and applicable safety legislation related to material handling.
- Six (6) months to one (1) year previous experience in similar role in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional safety record is mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, as well as to work under pressure / time constraints.
- Able to work overtime or off-shift as required.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others across departments.
