The DevOps Specialist will be working to extend the release automation and deployment capabilities across a diverse set of Java based enterprise applications, including but not limited to running source control management in Git through automated build and packaging using Jenkins pipelines, automated deployment and test execution, provisioning of Cloud-Based environments based on Kubernetes (both Linux and Windows).

The DevOps Specialist is primary responsible for automating and maintaining CI / CD pipeline and CI environments, including maintenance and support of DevOps Tools Platform.

The individual will be leading the activities for building a robust and scalable DevOps Tools Infrastructure, responsible for end-to-end support of DevOps suite of tools including automation, maintaining data centers and provide coaching and support to users and evangelize agile practices.

The person ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

In addition to hands-on development experience and breadth of technical skills, the right candidate will also have a good understanding of current DevOps best practices, configuration management, and deployment automation.

A successful candidate for this position should be passionate about good processes and best development practices. She / he must be comfortable working independently as well as being part of a collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING :

  • Highly proficient in performing upgrades, maintenance activities and troubleshooting on DevOps tools system such as JIRA, Confluence, Crowd, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, GitHub and Slack to ensure uptime and high availability.
  • Strong Experience in end-to-end support and coaching of DevOps suite of tools including automation, maintaining HA, DR for DevOps tools.
  • Demonstrate capability to support and administer Tools for 900+ users across multiple domains, teams and departments.
  • Competent in performing new tools evaluations and research to extend capabilities of existing platform.
  • Understand and have implemented DevOps best practices related to Agile Methodologies, Security, DevOps Platform Design etc.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders on a variety of DevOps solutions, industry best practices and emerging trends.
  • Maintain a technical proficiency with respect to programming languages, scripts and processes to ensure that Tangerine is well positioned for technological advances in the marketplace.
  • Assist / support users and teams in troubleshooting efforts. Timely resolution / investigation of application issues.
  • Develop Jenkins CICD pipelines-as-code to run and maintain environments to ensure stability and uptime.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his / her respective areas in accordance with Tangerine's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML / ATF / sanctions and conduct risk.

Education

  • University or College Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Previous exposure to the banking industry / financial services is preferred
  • Experience with industry best practices standards (ITIL, DevOps, CMMI and others)
  • Strong development background

Specialized Knowledge

  • Understanding of Tangerine banking systems and processes
  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Expert and Proficient in DevOps Tools, Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge in CI / CD delivery model

  • Competent in DevOps Tools administration, troubleshooting, maintenance and user support.
  • Expert in Project and Defect Management Tools (like Jira), Documentation and Collaboration Tools (like Confluence, Slack), Source Code Version Control (Git / GitHub), Continuous Integration Tools (like Jenkins), Artifact Management Tools (like Artifactory) and Code quality and security tools (like SonarQube).
  • Competent in enterprise application high availability, data center and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Hands on knowledge and expertise in scripting and automation languages such as Groovy, JavaScript, Bash / Shell.
  • Well versed in development lifecycle and object oriented development methodologies
  • Highly skilled in troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio and MS Project)
  • Excellent documentation skills
