Senior Full Stack Developer (Java / Angular)We are seeking two Senior Full Stack Developers for a high-profile, 100% onsite contract with the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement (Labour and Transportation Cluster). In this role, you will lead the modernization of critical operational reporting systems, migrating existing WebFOCUS frameworks into a modern, Azure-hosted web application.

Project Background : WebFOCUS is the legacy reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) framework currently supporting critical Ministry of Transportation (MTO) operations. This initiative focuses on the design, development, and delivery of a brand-new operational reporting portal.As a Senior Developer, you will re-platform existing WebFOCUS reports—including all underlying business logic, complex SQL, and data transformation rules—into a modern web application featuring a Java backend and Angular frontend. The solution will be hosted within the Ministry’s Azure environment and must comply with Ontario Public Service (OPS) architecture, security, and accessibility (AODA) standards.

Key Deliverables1. Web User Interface (Frontend)

• Code Quality: Deliver fully commented, functional, and production-ready Angular front-end code for the reporting portal.
• Testing: Write comprehensive unit test code and ensure thorough automated UI test coverage.
• Accessibility: Translate legacy WebFOCUS report layouts into highly responsive, modern, and AODA-compliant web views.

2. Application Programming Interfaces (Backend APIs)

• Design & Development: Architect and build secure, high-performing REST API services using Java to expose reporting data and business logic.
• Data Integration: Migrate, optimize, and execute complex backend SQL queries and data transformation rules from the legacy environment.
• Documentation: Provide clean, well-documented API endpoints that integrate seamlessly with the Angular frontend and Azure hosting environment.

Core Requirements

• Senior-level expertise in Full Stack development, specifically using modern Java frameworks for backend services and Angular for the frontend.
• Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL and managing data transformation logic.
• Proven experience developing applications within an Azure cloud environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of accessibility standards, specifically AODA compliance and responsive UI design.
• Prior experience with public sector architecture frameworks (specifically Ontario Public Service/OPS standards) is highly preferred.
