Job description

Group Product Manager - Domain Platform

Caseware is one of Canada's original Fintech companies, having led the global audit and accounting software industry for over 30 years, with more than 500,000 users across 130 countries and available in 16 different languages. While you might not have heard of us (yet) over 36,000 accounting and audit professionals list Caseware as a skill on their profiles!

As Group Product Manager for the Domain Platform, you sit at the intersection of audit practice and technology. You will be a key contributor to the product strategy and execution for our cloud-based assurance workflow capabilities - platform features and tools that power financial audit engagements and are leveraged by Caseware's global solutions.

What makes this role unique is the balance it demands: understanding of audit methodology on one side, and proven product management craft on the other. You strive to understand how auditors work, and you translate that expertise into platform decisions that keep Caseware's solutions relevant, compliant, and ahead of market developments.

This role sits at the intersection of audit practice and technology at a pivotal moment. Caseware sees AI not as an add-on, but as the future foundation of audit – integral to how auditors work, how engagements are run, and how our platform evolves. You will help shape what AI-driven audit looks like in practice, working closely with global product and engineering teams to define and prioritize AI capabilities that are grounded in real audit methodology.

This is a full-time, permanent position.
This is a new role.
Location:
This is a hybrid role, requiring the successful candidate to work 3 days a week in our Toronto office located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, Ontario.

What you will be doing:

  1. Strategy Development: In collaboration with the Director of Product, define the overarching strategy for platform products, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Demonstrate deep knowledge of each product managed by your team, including market position, value proposition, and competitive landscape. Continually assess and refine product suite, identifying new business opportunities and optimal resource allocation. Cultivate expertise in AI to grasp the full scope of technological capabilities, informing and inspiring a visionary product roadmap.

  2. Influence and Leadership: Foster a culture of process improvement and employee engagement within and across teams. Mentor team members and other employees, ensuring the inclusion of relevant stakeholders in decision-making processes. Build a supportive culture that empowers teams to take on more responsibilities.

  3. Execution and Collaboration: Articulate the concept of incremental value delivery to a wide range of stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams. Define and manage initiatives that align with the broader organizational vision. Engage with strategic key accounts to understand product usage patterns and motivations. Diligently tracks and proactively manages key KPIs and product metrics to optimize performance, drive strategic decision-making, and achieve targeted outcomes.

  4. Customer Insight: Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making. Serve as an authority on customer and user insights, leveraging them for product enhancements. Ensure consistent integration of user research into decision-making processes. Leverages deep insights into the customer journey and pain points to shape product requirements, design, and development, ensuring solutions that effectively address customer challenges and elevate satisfaction

What you will bring:

  • 8+ years of experience and a proven track record in leading complex product launches and projects. Ability to guide long-term vision for analytics products and drive towards that vision.

  • 8+ years conducting external audit engagements on financial statements at a Public Accounting Firm (not consulting or internal audit), OR experience designing or implementing software solutions for external audit teams within the national office of a Public Accounting Firm

  • Strong people management skills and experience in coordinating cross-functional projects. Ability to represent the team across all levels of management and with external stakeholders.

  • Confidence in making strategic decisions, using data and prioritization techniques to pivot when necessary. Experience in enabling teams to operate autonomously.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate the value of the team's work clearly and engage in difficult conversations when needed.

  • CPA or equivalent accounting certification.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.

  • Agility in adapting to rapidly changing technology landscapes.

Salary Range

The annual base salary for this position is between $150,000 CAD and $160,000 CAD per year.

This role is also eligible for discretionary bonus and/or commission, as well as other benefits. Actual pay within the listed range will be determined based on factors such as transferable skills, relevant experience, market conditions, and primary work location.
