About the role :
Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for ensuring that materials are purchased and delivered on time to ensure ongoing production needs are met. Understanding the purchasing service function, the individual will demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills as well as the ability to build relationships both with suppliers and internal customers.
Responsibilities:
Vendor Management
Sourcing and Procurement of materials or services required to support our Customers both internally and externally. (i.e. Electronic components, Custom material, project materials.)
Execution of Purchase Orders, follow-up and quotations
Working with Suppliers to ensure on time delivery performance and forecast planning as needed
Flexibility and problem resolution when required to meet key performance metrics. (Quality, On-Time Delivery and Price Objectives)
Working with Suppliers to ensure stocking strategies are in line with expectations
Multi-Sourcing initiatives as required - 2nd or even 3rd sourcing where necessary
Serve as a key contributor to negotiation of supplier contracts e.g. MSA’s, LOI, KanBan.
Process Development
As a key contributor you will ensure that procurement is aligned with other Departments schedule and requirements as needed e.g. Production, NPI, Logistics, meeting Revenue goals, cost savings and inventory strategies as needed
Monitor and recommend alternative solutions to challenges proactively
Develop new supply sources as alternates to poorly performing suppliers or sole source materials/services
Drive and support continuous cost reduction initiatives
Interact closely with suppliers and engineering to resolve performance issues.
Requirements:
Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in related role
Certification or accreditation in Business Administration, Procurement or Supply Chain Management
Strong Computer skills e.g. ERP, Documentation Control (i.e. Drawings, Datasheets)
High level attention to detail, critical thinking, analytical, and capable of working in a rigorous environment consisting of a high volume of information and comparative analysis
Advanced Computer skills eg. ERP, Documentation Control (ie. Drawings, Datasheets)
Assets:
Strong negotiation skills
Relationship building and management skills
In depth understanding and knowledge of the industry
Competence in using Microsoft Office, in particular Excel

Salary Information:
The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 to $75,000. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s skills, competencies, and experience for the position.
