Summary
The Diversified Analog Solutions team located in Ottawa, Canada is home to Skyworks' design center for RF front-end solutions : low-noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, RF switches, filters, couplers, and front-end modules has a challenging opportunity for a University Student available for a 12-month work term starting in January 2025.
The successful candidate will report to a senior engineering mentor assigned to them and will apply sound engineering skills to a variety of assignments in electronic design engineering.
Responsibilities
- RF design support of RFICs and multi-chip modules.
- Schematic capture, simulation, layout, verification and EM analysis
- Perform RF test evaluation of RFICs and multi-chip modules
- Communicate effectively using basic RF terminology
- Set up and perform RF tests, evaluate and summarize test data and present data to the design team
- Lab prototype debugging, tuning and measurement
Job Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in a BSEE, MSEE or PhD degree program in Electrical Engineering.
- Must be able and available to work on-site from Jan 2025 to Dec 2025
- Must have a basic knowledge of analog and RF electronic circuits and principles.
- Must have a suitable background in RF design or concepts.
- Knowledge in RF parameters (insertion loss, return loss, harmonics, IMD, IIP2 / 3, VSWR, NF, etc.) is preferred.
- Experience in using test equipment and tools such as multi-meter, oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, RF sources, and soldering tools is preferred.
Desirable Knowledge / Experience
- Experience with Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS is highly preferred.
- Basic understanding of high-frequency circuit design
- Basic familiarity with RF circuit blocks such as LNAs and PAs
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to work in a hands-on environment.
- Strong communication and time-management skills
The typical pay range for an intern is currently CAD $25.00 - $44.00 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on level of education and the ultimate job duties and requirements.
