Detailed Role Overview

As a Software Developer, you will be deeply involved in the implementation of the Intelcom GeoCoding service that aims to provide the best accuracy for address coordinates in Canada and eventually the world.

The project you will work on is a state-of-the-art Java application with CI / CD and will give you the chance to directly impact Intelcom’s operations.

We are seeking a highly motivated Java Software Developer to join our team. In this role, you will assist and participate in the development and improvement of our software platforms.

You will work within a software development squad and with stakeholders, contributing to enhancing system functionality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Writing high-quality Java code and resolving technical issues
• Fully testing the code written with Unit, Integration, Load, and End-to-End tests.
• Developing innovative, scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant software solutions
• Contributing to software design and aligning with long-term goals
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation
• Guiding the team in technical decisions and staying updated
• Ensuring software quality and adherence to standards
• Participating in project planning, tracking progress, and managing risks
• Facilitating team communication and bridging gaps
• Other duties as assigned, related to system integration and software development.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years’ software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java or C# and strong system design skills.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with geocoding providers like Google Maps, Bing Maps, or OpenStreetMap is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
