Alta Vista Specialty and Emergency has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our established network of highly skilled professionals. You will have an opportunity to use your skills to the fullest potential! Our Registered veterinary technicians are given the necessary tools and resources to be successful in pursuing multiple passions within our hospital. You will have opportunities to expand your learning through extensive exposure and involvement in many specialty cases.

Our ICU team members are our superstars of all things patient care related. These caring and dedicated individuals ensure that all hospitalized patients are treated like one of their own during their stay.

• Have completed a Veterinary Technician program, ability to register with the OAVT.
• Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery.
• Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records.
• Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents
• The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude, including the ability to ask clarifying questions to facilitate effective solution-finding
• Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents.

We are located at 2220 Walkley Rd, 20 minutes south of the vibrant downtown Ottawa Market and operate out of a 52, 000 square foot facility. We have a large referring veterinarian community of over 300 General practice and Emergency hospitals. Alta Vista Specialty and Emergency is a growing multidisciplinary hybrid hospital with Referral, Emergency, and General Practice services all under the same roof. Our board-certified specialists provide care in Ophthalmology, Oncology, Critical Care, Specialty Surgery, Neurology, Behaviour, Anesthesia, Dentistry, Dermatology, and Internal Medicine and have access to on-site MRI and CT diagnostics. With a dedicated staff of 125, including 30 veterinarians, we offer excellence in veterinary medicine because we are passionate about what we do!
