The Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) is the national voice of Canada's fresh fruit and vegetable industry, representing more than 900 organizations spanning the entire produce value chain, including growers, shippers, packers, importers, exporters, retailers, foodservice operators, distributors, and logistics providers. Founded in 1925 and headquartered in Ottawa, CPMA members account for approximately 90% of fresh fruit and vegetable sales in Canada.

Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing and Events, the Senior Director, Events provides strategic and operational leadership for CPMA's national events portfolio, including the Annual Convention and Trade Show, Board meetings, member engagement initiatives, and corporate events. CPMA’s annual event is the largest produce trade show in Canada, drawing more than 5,000 representatives from around the globe, and is responsible for a significant portion of CPMA’s revenues. This highly visible role is responsible for shaping and executing a multi-year events strategy that enhances member value, drives revenue growth, strengthens stakeholder engagement, and reinforces CPMA's position as the leading convenor of Canada's fresh produce industry. The Senior Director also provides leadership and oversight for the recruitment, engagement, and management of volunteers who play a critical role in the successful delivery of the Annual Convention and Trade Show, ensuring an exceptional experience for attendees while fostering strong volunteer engagement. Working collaboratively across the organization, the Senior Director will ensure the delivery of exceptional event experiences that advance the Association's strategic, brand, and business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, results-oriented events leader with experience delivering large-scale conferences, trade shows, and complex stakeholder-focused events. They bring strong financial and operational acumen, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a proven ability to lead high-performing teams while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative and influential communicator, the successful candidate will combine creativity, commercial insight, and execution excellence to deliver innovative event experiences that create value for members, sponsors, exhibitors, industry stakeholders, and volunteers.

Expected compensation: $90-110,000 CAD.

Elle représente plus de 900 organisations couvrant l’ensemble de la chaîne de valeur de ce secteur, notamment les producteurs, les expéditeurs, les conditionneurs, les importateurs, les exportateurs, les détaillants, les fournisseurs de services alimentaires, les distributeurs et les fournisseurs de services logistiques. Sous la responsabilité de la vice-présidente, Marketing et événements, la directrice principale ou le directeur principal, Événements assurera la direction stratégique et opérationnelle du portefeuille d’événements nationaux de l’ACDFL, notamment l’Expo-congrès, les réunions du conseil d’administration, les initiatives visant à renforcer l’engagement des membres et les événements d’entreprise. L’Expo-congrès annuel de l’ACDFL est le plus grand salon professionnel consacré aux fruits et légumes au Canada; il attire plus de 5 000 représentants du monde entier et représente une part importante des recettes de l’Association. La personne titulaire de ce poste à forte visibilité sera responsable d’élaborer et de mettre en œuvre une stratégie pluriannuelle en matière d’événements visant à accroître la valeur offerte aux membres, à stimuler la croissance du chiffre d’affaires, à renforcer l’engagement des parties prenantes et à consolider la position de l’ACDFL en tant que principal chef de file de l’industrie des fruits et légumes frais au Canada. La directrice principale ou le directeur principal assurera également la direction et la supervision du recrutement, de la participation et de la gestion des bénévoles, qui jouent un rôle essentiel dans le bon déroulement de l’Expo-congrès, en veillant à offrir une expérience exceptionnelle aux personnes participantes tout en favorisant une forte mobilisation des bénévoles. En collaborant avec l’ensemble de l’organisation, la personne titulaire de ce poste veillera à offrir des expériences événementielles exceptionnelles qui contribuent à la réalisation des objectifs stratégiques, commerciaux et de marque de l’Association.

La personne idéale pour ce poste est dotée d’un esprit stratégique et axée sur les résultats. En tant que responsable événementielle, elle possède également une expérience dans l’organisation de conférences à grande échelle, de salons professionnels et d’événements complexes centrés sur les parties prenantes. Elle possède une solide expertise en gestion financière et opérationnelle, des compétences exceptionnelles en matière de relations interpersonnelles ainsi qu’une capacité avérée à diriger des équipes hautement performantes tout en gérant de multiples priorités dans un environnement en constante évolution. Dotée d’excellentes aptitudes pour la collaboration et l’influence, la personne retenue saura allier créativité, sens des affaires et excellence dans l’exécution afin de proposer des expériences événementielles innovantes qui créent de la valeur pour les membres, les commanditaires, les exposants, les intervenants du secteur et les bénévoles.
