Who we are

At CPCS, we’re collaborative, fun, and deeply dedicated advisors that are shaping the development of infrastructure because the world depends on good infrastructure to function. And good infrastructure can look like this:

  • Connecting people to family, work, healthcare, education, and more through safe, and reliable transit.
  • Creating access to clean sources of energy in countries where access is not commonplace, opening opportunities for the use of healthcare and education technologies.
  • Making better use of existing transport infrastructure through policy or regulatory solutions to reduce congestion.

Headquartered in Canada with offices around the world, our 200+ CPCSers have completed over 1,800 projects in 120 countries. If you thrive on intellectual curiosity, problem-solving, and collaboration, you’ll find your place at CPCS.

The opportunity

As Head of IT Modernization within Corporate Affairs, and part of the wider Shared Services Group, your mission will be to make the lives of our global team members easier through technology.

You’ll help establish, lead, and oversee a new internal capability focused on digital transformation, AI enablement, automation, data, dashboards, and business systems improvement. As an individual contributor, you'll connect the company’s strategy with execution, translating business needs into modern technology solutions that make work easier, faster, and more effective.

From advancing our IT modernization roadmap to championing AI-driven innovation across the firm, you'll help shape how CPCS works for years to come. This is a rare opportunity to build something new, leave a visible mark on the organization.

This is a growth role designed for a high-potential candidate to develop into a director-level position, supported by coaching from our Senior Director, Corporate Affairs.

Your responsibilities

Under the leadership of our Senior Director, Corporate Affairs, you will:

  • Own the process and results of all technical aspects of our IT modernization efforts, which will require independence and strong initiative.
  • Lead the IT stack assessment and modernization program across collaboration platforms, ERP systems, reporting tools, data sources and integrations.
  • Define and lead AI and automation portfolio — identifying high-value use cases and overseeing internally and/or developed AI tools, agents and workflow automations from requirements through testing, release and adoption.
  • Translate business needs into practical, scalable technology solutions — from process redesign and configuration to automation, reporting, vendor products and AI-enabled tools.
  • Lead product and delivery management, including backlogs, roadmaps, prioritization, sprint and vendor coordination, user testing and post-launch review.
  • Running discovery sessions/workshops to surface workflow inefficiencies and automation opportunities.
  • Coordinate adoption of new tools, dashboards, automations and improved processes with stakeholders across the firm.
  • Lead practical governance, documentation and operational resilience for IT, AI, data, privacy, confidentiality, licensing and vendors.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to Legal, Compliance, and Talent Management to ensure IT solutions meet organizational and governance standards related to responsible AI usage, data privacy, human oversight, risk management, monitoring, approval workflows, and compliance requirements as well as applicable regulatory obligations for sensitive and regulated data.
  • Develops success metrics, operational KPIs, and value realization frameworks to measure productivity improvements, operational efficiencies, cost savings, quality enhancements, risk reduction, and business impact.
  • Monitors IT initiative performance, user adoption, business outcomes, and return on investment; continuously refines solutions and priorities based on measurable results.

What you bring to the team

  • Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, business technology management, engineering, data analytics, digital transformation, product management or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education, technical training and relevant experience.
  • Between 5–10 years of relevant experience in some combination of solution architecture, product management, business analysis, digital transformation, IT project delivery, systems implementation, data/reporting, automation, AI-enabled tools or technology-enabled business process improvement.
  • Experience translating business needs into technology requirements, solution options, product backlogs or implementation plans.
  • Experience working with business users, technical teams, vendors and management stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating delivery across multiple workstreams — including actions, risks, issues, dependencies and decisions.
  • Comfort working in environments where systems and processes are evolving while day-to-day business continues.
  • The legal right to work in Canada.

This will set you apart from other candidates

  • Experience with AI-enabled tools or internal product development, workflow automation, data/reporting, dashboards.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Azure-based tools or comparable enterprise technology environments.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, C#, C++
  • Experience supporting user testing, documentation, release planning, change management and adoption.
  • Experience helping establish new functions, operating models, governance routines, service catalogues or intake/prioritization processes.
  • Experience developing and maintaining IT strategies, roadmap and operating model aligned to corporate objectives.
  • Experience in consulting, professional services or project-based environment.
  • Certifications or training in Microsoft technologies, Power Platform, Azure, product management, business analysis, project management, data analytics, cybersecurity, privacy or AI.
