Job description

At March Networks, our goal is to create a positive working environment where all of our employees can thrive. When you join our team, you will enjoy flexibility and support for a healthy work-life balance, as well as the professional development opportunities needed to advance your career. You will be part of a growing global technology company that encourages teamwork and innovation, and where friendships are forged with colleagues all over the world. At March Networks, we value your hard work, creativity and your passionate desire to deliver only the best to our customers, partners and each other.

Role overview

This role combines end‑to‑end Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP)) leadership with advanced strategic procurement for March Networks & Vivotek hardware. The director is accountable for aligning demand, supply, and financial plans while building and managing a world‑class supply base that enables successful product hardware build strategies with our global Contract Manufacturing partners, including Delta and Sanmina.

Key responsibilities

S&OP / IBP ownership

  • Architect, implement, and continuously improve the S&OP / IBP framework, calendar, and governance across Sales, Operations, Finance, Product, and Engineering.
  • Define the S&OP key metrics including, standard templates, KPIs, and RACI to ensure a disciplined, repeatable process.
  • Lead monthly demand, supply, and executive S&OP reviews; ensure decisions are translated into MPS/MRP, capacity plans, and commercial commitments.
  • Integrate demand forecasts, supply plans, and financial plans to deliver revenue, service level, and inventory objectives while managing risk for both March Networks and Vivotek demand (SSS LOB)
  • Benchmark and embed best practices, tools, and analytics to support scenario planning and decision quality.

Demand, supply, and inventory planning

  • Lead development of a consensus demand plan by integrating sales input from March and Vivotek sales regions, market intelligence, and statistical forecasts, including NPI demand.
  • Oversee forecasting methodologies, forecast accuracy and metrics, and demand risk/opportunity management.
  • Lead Operations / Supply Chain to translate demand into capacity, supply, and inventory plans that meet service and working capital targets.
  • Lead scenario planning for upside/downside demand, component constraints, customer priorities, inventory investment, and revenue recovery strategies

Strategic Procurement for SSS LOB

  • Provide advanced procurement leadership to the Hardware Engineering organization throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept through volume production for Taipei, Poland, Milan and Ottawa design teams
  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships across key hardware commodities, including Memory/SOC/ICs/processors, PCBs, connectors, fans, and electro‑mechanical components.
  • Lead enterprise supply risk management including geopolitical, sanctions, tariff, lifecycle, allocation, and single-source component risks while developing mitigation strategies.
  • Act as the primary business interface between supply partners, Hardware Engineering, Product Line Management, and Operations.
  • Lead component price negotiations and manage commercial release milestones to meet build schedules, cost, and margin objectives.
  • Evaluate supplier capability, reliability, capacity, financial health, and cost competitiveness to support both NPI and long‑term supply strategies.

Contract Manufacture and Outsourcing

  • Supports global contract manufacturing partners, including Delta, Sanmina, and future partners across North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Drive and negotiate cost model negotiations with existing and new outsource partners to maximize the SSS LOB’s margin contribution.
  • Supports global third-party and outsourced logistics locations for inventory management, configuration capabilities, and direct order fulfillment, including inbound, outbound, and intercompany shipment logistics.
  • In collaboration with the Technical Operations team, engages contract manufacturers early and formally in DFM/DFA by conducting joint design reviews, BOM rationalization, and component risk assessments to ensure manufacturability, test strategy, and lifecycle/obsolescence considerations are built in.
  • Manages a rolling 6–12-month forecast, including fixed, flex, and forecast windows, with MPS/MRP visibility and clear rules for expedites, reschedules, and minimum order quantities to stabilize planning and ensure supply continuity.
  • Manages raw material risk and liability exposure by leveraging Kinaxis to provide visibility into work orders, WIP, purchase orders, and inventory, reconciled against demand.

BOM analysis, risk, and lifecycle management

  • Drive component portfolio rationalization across all 4 design teams to reduce the number of suppliers and components being supported.
  • Perform in‑depth Bill of Materials (BOM) analysis to inform S&OP and procurement decisions, including long lead‑time risk and early‑purchase strategies.
  • Drive end‑of‑life (EOL) component analysis, Product Change Notification (PCN) reviews, and dual‑sourcing strategies to protect continuity of supply.
  • Assess manufacturing cost structures for NPI designs and provide component‑level and finished‑goods cost models to Product Line Management and Finance.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for material shortages impacting builds, pilot runs, and volume product builds, coordinating mitigation across planning, engineering, and suppliers.

Commercial and contractual leadership

  • Lead procurement contract, NDA, and commercial term negotiations with key suppliers in alignment with corporate policies and risk appetite.
  • Conduct business and financial reviews of potential and existing suppliers to support sourcing decisions and S&OP risk reviews.
  • Manage pricing updates and verification for Engineering, Product Line Management, and Finance to ensure alignment of standard costs with S&OP assumptions and financial plans.

Executive engagement and change leadership

  • Present S&OP outcomes, supply risks, procurement strategies, and scenario analyses to executive leadership, driving data‑driven decisions.
  • Champion cross‑functional alignment between Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Procurement, resolving conflicts and enforcing accountability for inputs and actions.
  • Lead change management to elevate S&OP and strategic sourcing maturity, including process improvements, tool adoption, and capability building across the organization.
  • Participate in Product Line readiness and gate reviews, clearly articulating status, risks, mitigation plans, and commercial implications.

Performance management and governance

  • Define and monitor KPIs spanning both domains: forecast accuracy and bias, OTIF, inventory turns, capacity utilization, material availability, NPI launch readiness, cost variance, and savings.
  • Ensure that S&OP decisions and sourcing strategies are reflected in ERP/APS data, material masters, and procurement records.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning, sourcing, and NPI commercialization, quantifying financial and operational benefits (e.g., reduced expedites, improved fill rates, lower obsolescence, better margins).

Qualifications and experience

  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, or procurement in the high‑tech / networking or electronics industry, including strategic sourcing and supplier management.
  • 5+ years of direct experience leading S&OP/IBP or integrated demand/supply planning processes, ideally in a hardware or systems environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with NPI processes and BOM analysis, including cost modeling, lifecycle/risk assessment, and supplier selection.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating complex commercial agreements, including pricing, contracts, and NDAs with semiconductor and electronics suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of MRP/MPS, capacity planning, and inventory management, and how they connect to S&OP and financial planning.
  • Proficiency with ERP and planning systems (e.g., SAP or similar), sourcing tools, and advanced Excel/analytics; experience with product lifecycle or Agile/PLM systems is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills; proven ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders and executives and to drive decisions under time pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including financial analysis, scenario modeling, and supply risk mitigation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; Master’s degree is an asset.

Personal attributes

  • Strategic, systems thinker who can connect commercial, technical, and operational decisions end‑to‑end.
  • Highly collaborative and team‑oriented, with the presence to lead cross‑functional forums and executive reviews.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment with multiple concurrent NPI programs and evolving customer demand.
  • Results‑driven with a focus on disciplined execution, continuous improvement, and measurable impact on revenue, margin, and service.
