Alta Vista Specialty and Emergency has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our established network of highly skilled professionals. You will have an opportunity to use your skills to the fullest potential! Our RVTs are given the necessary tools and resources to be successful in pursuing multiple passions within our hospital. You will have opportunities to expand your learning through extensive exposure and involvement in many specialty cases.

• Minimum of 2 years as a practicing Registered Veterinary Technician
• Organize daily bookings and prepare caseload file information for Veterinarians and neurology team
• Point of contact between Veterinarian, Pet Owner and specialty departments
• Experience with and willing to enhance technical skills; anesthesia, CRIs, epidurals and mechanical ventilators
• Work closely with the ICU team and treatment team and assist where necessary
• Ability to thrive in a steady and often fast-paced environment
• Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues
• Proven ability to keep accurate patient records
• Strong ability to problem-solve

We are located at 2220 Walkley Rd, 20 minutes south of the vibrant downtown Ottawa Market and operate out of a 52, 000 square foot facility. We have a large referring veterinarian community of over 300 General practice and Emergency hospitals. Alta Vista Specialty and Emergency is a growing multidisciplinary hybrid hospital with Referral, Emergency, and General Practice services all under the same roof. Our board-certified specialists provide care in Ophthalmology, Oncology, Critical Care, Specialty Surgery, Neurology, Behaviour, Anesthesia, Dentistry, Dermatology, and Internal Medicine and have access to on-site MRI and CT diagnostics. With a dedicated staff of 125, including 30 veterinarians, we offer excellence in veterinary medicine because we are passionate about what we do!
