The Telfer School of Management invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in accounting at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor commencing on January 1st, 2027, or on July 1st, 2027.

Title of position: Professor in accounting at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The rank is commensurate with experience.

Duties: Academic staff functions include, in varying proportions: teaching, research, and academic service activities.

• Teaching activities include: i) strengthening quality teaching activities; ii) having excellent pedagogical practices and teaching-related scholarly activities; iii) providing an active contribution to increase our graduate programs and interdisciplinarity and iv) supervising graduate students.
• Scholarly activities: Applications are invited from candidates with a proven strong capacity in securing competitive research funding, and who can maintain lofty standards of excellence with an active research agenda in the field of accounting and related areas such as auditing and taxation.
• Graduate student supervision: Supervise students in the Accounting and Control field of Telfer’s Doctorate in Management and in the accounting field of Telfer’s MSc in Management.
• Academic service activities: The candidate will be an active member of the Accounting and Finance section. Administrative duties will be agreed upon with the section and the Dean.

Terms: Vacant tenure-track position.

Wage: The salary scale for an assistant professor starts at $99,377 (as of May 1, 2025).

Requirements

• Education: Ph.D. in accounting or in a related discipline.
• Designation: Canadian CPA.
• Work experience: A high-potential research program as demonstrated by articles published in high-quality and high-impact peer-reviewed journals in Accounting and related areas such as auditing and taxation. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a track record of success in attracting competitive research funding and an active engagement in the academic community.
• Language: Excellent communication skills in either English or French. Passive (or active) knowledge of one’s second official language (French or English) is a requirement for tenure. English-French bilingualism is an asset.
• Other: Demonstrated ability to teach taxation and/or auditing at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Priority will be given to applicants who are able to teach in both official languages.
