Job descriptionConstruction Supervisor – Mechanical (Mining / Heavy Industrial) 📍 Ontario, Canada (Remote Mining Site) 📄 Contract | Long-Term Capital Project ⏱ Rotation: 14 Days On / 14 Days Off The Opportunity Our client, a major owner/operator in the mining and heavy industrial sector, is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor – Mechanical to support a large-scale remote capital project in Ontario. This role is ideal for a senior field construction professional with extensive experience supervising heavy mechanical installations in mining or industrial environments. The successful candidate will join a high-performing site construction team supporting a multi-year project execution program with strong potential for long-term involvement. This is not an entry-level or developmental opportunity — the team requires someone capable of stepping into a fast-paced construction environment and contributing immediately. Key Responsibilities 🔧 Mechanical Construction Supervision - Supervise day-to-day field construction activities for mechanical scopes of work - Oversee installation of conveyors, paste plant systems, mechanical equipment, piping, and related infrastructure - Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and site crews to ensure safe and efficient execution - Monitor field productivity, quality, and compliance with project specifications 🦺 Safety & Regulatory Compliance - Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Ontario construction and OH&S regulations - Support adherence to applicable provincial and site-specific safety requirements, including TSSA-related standards where applicable - Promote strong field safety culture and safe work execution practices 🏗 Field Coordination & Execution - Work closely with construction management, resident engineers, planners, and discipline teams - Support construction sequencing, execution planning, and issue resolution in the field - Assist with constructibility reviews and practical field-driven solutions 📋 Reporting & Communication - Provide regular progress updates and communicate field issues, risks, and priorities - Participate in coordination meetings with project stakeholders and site leadership - Maintain accurate field documentation and reporting Ideal Profile ✔️ 10–15+ years of construction supervision experience in mining, heavy industrial, or large capital project environments ✔️ Strong background supervising mechanical construction scopes within active industrial sites ✔️ Experience supporting large, complex projects — not residential or light commercial construction ✔️ Demonstrated Ontario project experience and familiarity with provincial construction regulations and standards ✔️ Strong understanding of field execution, contractor coordination, and remote site operations ✔️ Previous experience working on rotational or camp-based projects strongly preferred ✔️ Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-activity construction environment ✔️ Comfortable working within integrated owner/EPCM/construction teams Preferred Backgrounds Experience supporting projects such as: - Large-scale mining developments - Mineral processing facilities - Heavy industrial plant construction - Remote or northern infrastructure projects - Camp-based or Arctic construction environments Experience with major mining owners, EPCM firms, or industrial construction groups across Ontario and Canada is considered a strong asset.
