The Canadian Mental Health Association-Ottawa Branch (CMHA Ottawa) is an independent, community-based non-profit organization supporting individuals in the Ottawa area with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder, many of whom are experiencing chronic homelessness or are vulnerably housed. We are dedicated to promoting good mental health, developing and implementing sustainable support systems and services, and encouraging public action to strengthen community mental health services and related policies and legislation.
Type of Position: Permanent Full-Time

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Salary: $116,867 to $142,182 per annum
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, Direct Services ensures that front-line direct services (Case Management and Outreach) are delivered in a manner consistent with the Branch’s mission, vision and values, operational policies, legislative requirements, funding criteria and professional standards. In doing so, the Director, Direct Services demonstrates a deep understanding of and responsibility for actively promoting quality services; supporting client and family centered engagement and care; and creating awareness of, and commitment to, the need for transformative changes to the CMHA Ottawa approach to models of care and organizational performance. The incumbent is a member of the Directors Team and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Essential Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in a relevant field of study, e.g. Health Care Administration, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Population Health, Public Health, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a leadership role in the health care or social services fields related to the provision of services to individuals with a serious mental illness, preferably in a community setting, or a combination of equivalent education and experience. Experience managing multiple large-scale concurrent projects. Experience leading and successfully executing change management processes.
Language: English essential. Bilingual (French/English) preferred.
Vehicle: This is an in-office role, and the incumbent must have a reliable means of transportation to attend work in person.
Other: Legally able to work in Canada, able to provide a Police Record Check, and proof of academic achievement.
