Job Summary
TheAnalyst, Revenue andCommissionsplaysa key role in ensuringaccuraterevenue accounting, commission calculations,and financial reporting.The roleworks closely withrevenue-generatingdepartmentssuch asSales andCorporatePartnerships, to help drive the business forward. The successful candidateis highlydetail-oriented, eager to learn, astrongcommunicator,andispassionate about sportsand teamwork.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of contracts and summary billings, includingappropriaterevenuetreatment
- Record revenuefor all revenue streamsin the general ledger
- Maintaingeneral ledger accounts relating to revenue, deferred revenue,andunbilled amounts
- Own the commissions process including the development of annual commission plans and calculation of monthly commissions for sales teams
- Prepare month-end journal entries, reconciliations,contractschedulesand analysison schedule and without error
- Analyzeyear-to-date actualscompared to budget, and prepare monthly and annual forecasts
- Develop productive, collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersWork collaboratively with the Corporate Sales Department and other departments to proactively manage and resolve business and operational issues in an innovative,efficientand effective manner
- Prepare required reporting to NHL or governing bodies
- Assistwithproviding supporting documentationtoexternal auditors
- Regularly reviewaccounting functions and revenue systems for processimprovementto help drive efficiency
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies
- Otheradhocprojects as assigned
Job Requirements
- Minimum3yearspreviousexperience in accounting with an emphasis onfinancial accounting/accounts receivable collections/treasury
- Post-secondarydegreein Accounting,Business, Finance, or related field
- Keen to adapt to a dynamic business environment, balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
- Stronginterpersonal,communicationand teamworkskills
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles and online banking systems
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Desire to continuouslyoptimizeprocesses
- General awareness of PCI standardspertaining tosecurity of credit card information
- Knowledge ofMicrosoft BusinessCentral and/orTicketmaster ticketing system is an asset

This role falls within abasesalary range of $57,700to $88,500annually, consistent with the organizations established salary ranges. Salary ranges aredeterminedthrough a wide variety of factors including but not limited to market data, internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skillset.
