Job Description
The Senior Systems Administrator leads Remsofts IT operations, cloud infrastructure, and M&A technical integration activities. This role provides technical leadership across Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365 environments, while ensuring scalability, security, compliance, and cost efficiency. Ideal candidates excel in complex problemsolving, crossfunctional collaboration, and guiding organizations through technical transitions.
In addition to seniorlevel infrastructure and integration responsibilities, this role oversees core IT operational functions including monitoring, maintenance, identity management, and operational governance to ensure highavailability, strong security posture, and operational excellence across Remsofts environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical integrations for acquisitions, including assessment of infrastructure, security posture, data migration, identity harmonization, and cloud environment consolidation.
- Develop and execute technical onboarding and integration plans, including identity management, data migration, and system harmonization.
- Administer and optimize Azure and AWS cloud environments for governance, security, networking, patching, automation, and monitoring.
- Manage and scale production systems; collaborate with teams to improve performance, reliability, and security.
- Implement and track cloud costoptimization strategies across SaaS, production, development, and staging environments.
- Oversee system monitoring, backup processes, patching schedules, and operational maintenance to ensure continuous uptime and reliability.
- Oversee user provisioning, identity lifecycle management (IAM), and access governance across cloud and corporate systems.
- Lead cloud cost monitoring, usage reporting, and budget oversight.
- Ensure highquality technical onboarding for acquisitions, including environment setup and secure access enablement.
- Serve as technical lead for SOC 2 Type 2, ISO compliance ensuring controls are implemented, tested, and documented.
- Utilize security and compliance services in Azure and AWS to strengthen detection, protection, and response capabilities.
- Guide governance frameworks across identity, access, data protection, and cloud security posture.
- Work closely with M&A teams and acquired companies to align technical activities with integration milestones.
- Continuously refine Remsofts IT playbook and cloud operational frameworks.
- Provide seniorlevel guidance and escalation support for internal user issues and platform troubleshooting.
- Provide guidance and subject matter expert on cloud scalability, security, performance best practices.
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Software/Technical Skills
- Expert level administration and infrastructure knowledge of:
- Strong experience in cloud governance, identity management, security controls, networking, and automation.
- Experience with security and compliance services in Azure and AWS (e.g. Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, AWS Security Hub, AWS Audit Manager, Amazon GuardDuty, Amazon Inspector and related security tools (asset).
- Familiarity with ESRI solutions (asset).
- Experience
- 7+ years of experience in systems administration, cloud engineering, or similar technical leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience managing at least one M&A technical system integration.
- Proven experience implementing or managing SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks.
- Proficiency in English (writing, reading, speaking).
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

- Experience with multiple M&A technical integrations.
- Crosscloud infrastructure and security design experience.
Location
We are committed to finding the best candidate and are flexible regarding location. While our eligible Remsoft's office are in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Ottawa, Ontario, and Vitoria, Brazil we are open to a range of working arrangements for this role. Candidates will preferably work from one of our eligible offices, however we may be open to hybrid or remote working arrangements.
