SQL Developer Power BI
Our external client is a tech startupenvironment in the payments space and they are looking for askilled Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to oversee thecreation and management of BI and analytics solutions transformingdata into valuable insights.
This role is a 6month contractposition that is in Calgary and does require halftime onsitepresence.
The ideal candidate should possess astrong background in data and business analysis along withanalytical and communication skills.
A sound business understandingand problemsolving abilities are also desired. Our Client is in theprocess of moving all reporting into PowerBi this role will get inon the beginning of establishing a reporting solution for a largegroup of customers.
As such the successfulcandidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing our businessintelligence system to drive informed decisionmaking.

Responsibilities
- Translate business needs to technicalspecifications
- Design build and deploy BIsolutions (e.g. reporting tools)
- Create toolsto store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)
- Conduct unittesting and troubleshooting
- Evaluate andimprove existing BI systems
- Collaborate withteams to integrate systems
- Develop and executedatabase queries and conduct analyses
- Createvisualizations and reports for requested projects
- Develop and update technical documentation
Requirements andskills
- Proven experienceas a BI Developer or Data Scientist
- Industry experience is preferred
- Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensionalmodeling) and data mining
- Indepthunderstanding of database management systems online analyticalframework
- Familiarity with BI technologies(e.g. Microsoft Power BI Oracle BI)
- Knowledgeof SQL queries SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL ServerIntegration Services (SSIS)
- Proven abilitiesto take initiative and be innovative
- Analytical mind with a problemsolving aptitude
