Litigation Legal Assistant
This position is for our client, a leading firm in the legal industry, specializing in high-stakes commercial litigation.
Based in Montréal, the successful candidate will join a team of legal support professionals providing critical assistance to lawyers handling complex cases.

Responsibilities :
- Draft correspondence and prepare, revise, and finalize legal documents for court filing and notification
- Communicate with bailiffs, court representatives, and handle procedural delays
- Manage deadlines, plan meetings, and appointments, and maintain lawyers’ calendars
- Coordinate lawyers’ business trips, making necessary reservations
- Proofread documents for grammar, formatting, and compliance with legal standards
- Manage files and documents using storage platforms like Closing Folders, Sharefile, and virtual data rooms
- Assist lawyers with business development and maintain an up-to-date contacts database
- Process time, expenses, and open files for lawyers
- Liaise with clients, colleagues, and external parties, including support departments
- Assist with billing in collaboration with Billing Specialists
- Transcribe dictations, audio notes, and recordings
- Participate in the onboarding process for new team members
- Perform various administrative tasks as required.
What you will need to succeed :
Attestation of Collegial Studies (ACS) in legal secretarial studies or Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in office systems technology;
Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in paralegal technology would be an asset.
- 3 to 4 years of relevant experience, ideally within a professional services firm (required).
- 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally within a professional services firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Federal Court, Tax Court of Canada, and Supreme Court of Canada procedures would be an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of Québec litigation proceedings would be an advantage.
- Ability to act proactively, manage priorities, and work within tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and discretion.
- Strong level of French (oral and written) to support clients in both languages.
- Professional proficiency in English (oral and written) to support clients in both languages.
