We are seeking an Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join our team in our Waterloo office, but consideration would be given to other Ontario offices. The position will join the Hydrogeology Technical Team of Stantec’s Environmental Services Business Line.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Possess strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions
• Participate in Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards, and Guidelines in the execution of all work
• Familiarity with local practices and markets as well as entry-level project management skills are considered an asset
• A valid G driver’s license is required

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner
• Organize field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater and surface water sampling; water level monitoring; hydraulic conductivity testing; and infiltration testing
• Develop conceptual site hydrogeologic understanding
• Analyze and interpret data including pumping test results, aquifer response, surface water, and groundwater interaction
• Prepare technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical results, and interpretation
• Assist project managers with developing project budgets, determining project scope, and establishing project schedules
• Travel as required to various field sites with overnight travel sometimes required
• Demonstrate sound understanding and application of established practices, standards, and guidelines
• The majority of time spent in an office environment with prolonged sitting and computer work

Education and Experience

• Post-secondary educational background, ideally M.Sc., specializing in a Geoscience or Engineering program with an emphasis on hydrogeology
• A minimum of 5 years of hydrogeological experience. Existing professional registration or ability to work towards a professional registration (P.Geo. or P.Eng.)
• Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
