As the Information Security Architect, you are an advisor to the business and IT Operations, supporting cybersecurity strategic planning with a focus on security controls patterns and security capabilities.
You are responsible for establishing the security capabilities and control patterns as well as supporting the development of the associated roadmaps that enable and maintain these capabilities and patterns.
The Security Architect makes decisions that have a major impact on the corporation’s ability to attain its cybersecurity targets while maintaining a rationalized portfolio of security capabilities that achieves synergy across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Design cybersecurity capabilities and security architecture patterns that are basis for business and IT Operations to address threats to our environment.
- Review cybersecurity policies and standards and frameworks to ensure alignment with business and technology strategies.
- Facilitate the reuse of cybersecurity capabilities components, and proven patterns.
- Participate in the strategy for building and maintaining the architectural runway via Enabler Epics.
- Understand and communicate Strategic Themes, and other business drivers for security architecture, to System Architects and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assist with risk assessments to identify security gaps and recommendations to address them.
- Govern the security components of the solution to ensure optimal solutions in terms of cost effectiveness, scalability, security and future positioning which are aligned with the organization’s overall technology and security strategies, and consistent with the organization’s technology environment.
- Ensure technology solutions are documented according to the organization’s policies and practices, including models and other architecture documents.
- Validate technology solutions prior to implementation to ensure alignment with corporate security standards and patterns.
- Assist Business Leaders & Business, Enterprise, System, and Data architects in accomplishing the overall objectives of Security Architecture.
- Communicate vision and lead technical staff in creating components of the Security Architecture.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
- SAFe Architect Certification or commitment to complete within 12 months.
- Completion of one or more of the following : TOGAF 9 Foundation, SABSA Chartered Security Architect - Practitioner Certificate (SCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), SANS Cloud Security Architecture or other equivalent cyber / information security credentials
- Seven years of experience in information security and technology covering a wide range of technologies and disciplines including : Three years as an architect and / or subject matter expert related to cyber / information security;
Five years of experience as an IT practitioner in areas related to cyber / information security.
