We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Burnaby, British Columbia, and contribute to our mission of creating sustainable and high-performing buildings.

Position Overview :

As a Commissioning Engineer our Client, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that commercial and institutional buildings meet their design and performance criteria.

You will work closely with project teams, clients, and various stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

This role is critical in optimizing building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Commissioning Planning : Collaborate with project teams to develop commissioning plans that outline the scope, objectives, and schedule for the commissioning process
  • Commissioning Execution : Lead and actively participate in commissioning activities, including functional testing, verification of system installations, and troubleshooting.
  • Quality Assurance : Ensure that building systems and equipment are installed, tested, and operated in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Documentation : Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, issues, and resolutions. Prepare commissioning reports and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Stakeholder Communication : Foster open and effective communication with project teams, contractors, and clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution : Identify and rectify issues related to building systems and equipment, working in collaboration with contractors to find cost-effective solutions.
  • Performance Optimization : Continuously assess building performance and energy efficiency, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments.
  • Training and Handover : Train building operators and maintenance personnel on system operation and provide guidance during the transition from construction to operation.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure that buildings meet all relevant codes, standards, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or related Experience
  • Experience in commissioning commercial and institutional buildings.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and automation systems (Building Operations)
  • Knowledge of building codes, energy codes, and sustainability practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with commissioning software and tools.
