Senior Systems Administrator/Operations Support Specialist

We are seeking a Systems Administrator / Operations Support Specialist to provide high-level technical expertise and Tier 3 support for complex enterprise environments. This role is a blend of traditional systems administration, network security, and quality assurance. You will be responsible for the health of integrated technical environments, including server clusters, virtualized infrastructure, and security components. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between day-to-day operations and project-based improvements, ensuring all activities adhere to ISO 27001 and ITIL standards.

Pay Rate: $390.41-$428.8/Diem

Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Build, maintain, and support network and security infrastructure, including Cisco switches/routers, firewalls (Check Point), and VPNs.

- Virtualization & Cloud: Manage and configure virtual environments using VMware (ESXi, vSphere) and provide support for Citrix NetScaler.

- Systems Support: Oversee Microsoft Server and Active Directory environments, performing data recovery, server backups, and patch management.

- Monitoring & Insights: Utilize a robust toolset including SolarWinds, Splunk, and Hyperic to monitor system dashboards, review logs, and proactively resolve alerts.

- Service Management: Lead Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes using FootPrints; design and customize ITSM tools to meet business requirements.

- Quality Assurance: Lead technology troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; set up test environments and perform QA validations in production during off-hours.

- Security & Compliance: Ensure all infrastructure follows security hardening standards, geofencing policies, and ISO 27001 guidelines.

- Operational Documentation: Create and review build books, run books, deployment guides, and back-out plans for technical upgrades.

Qualifications
- Technical Depth: 10+ years of experience building and supporting network and security infrastructure.

- Network & Security: Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and IPS. Proficiency with McAfee security tools (AV, HIPS, NIPS) is preferred.

- Systems Expert: 5+ years in complex environments involving Windows/Linux servers, Oracle, and SQL Server.

- Telephony: Experience with Cisco VOIP components and integrated voice/data switching systems.

- Service Mastery: 2+ years of experience with ITIL service management processes; ITIL Foundation certification is a significant asset.

- ITSM Tools: Specialized experience in configuring and migrating data within FootPrints or similar ticketing systems.

- Public Sector Awareness: (Asset) Experience in the healthcare industry and knowledge of personal health information protection legislation.

- Communication: Strong leadership skills with the ability to act as a liaison between end-users and specialized technical teams (DBAs, Network Admins).
